As I said before, I've been taking summer classes and that has kept me from working on art much.
I've also been busy behind the scenes trying to get the Death Taffy site up to what it needs to be to promote it at this next Anime convention. . . which for awhile I was pretty sure I was going to opt out of. I don't have much spare cash so spending monies on "
Anime Banzai's Family-Friendly-Con-For-Babies" Especially when they charge as much for Artist's Alley tables as the huge-cons like
Anime Expo, and
Sakura Con, and actually 10 dollars MORE than
Fanime. Kinda irritating considering it's a convention that only got 2,400 people last year and that was largely in part that
Vic Mignogna was a guest. Also rooms cost 109 a night. . . Okay, rant over. Long story short, I'm broke, tables are overpriced and I felt reeaaaly bad for those kids that got yelled at by Staff for laughing too loud. Plus there's a chance I wouldn't be able to go because of a hectic college schedule. . .
So, wasn't really making early plans on going. At least nothing immediate, I was also sorta waiting for AA info to be posted on the con's website.
. . . Theeenn I get a phone call from my cousin. She's wanting info on the convention, where it is, how much, rooms ect. She went with us to
Anime Oasis and loved it. Not only that but another cousin was disappointed he didn't get to go to the last one, so he's all excited to go to this one too. I hooked her up with the info.
Now it's MY turn to start seriously looking things over. The webite finally has information on it, so I decide to talk things over with
Kisla, my partner in crime. We decide that we might as well get an Artist's Alley table, since we
really need to promote ourselves more. Plus, Kisla might actually have more than a few postcards to put on the table. ^_^ . . . THEN we come to find out there's a Tea Set decorating contest, this is something Kisla had been talking about wanting to do not a week ago. It was like some sort of sign. Plus, we come to find out there is also going to be a Swap Meet, and Kisla just happens to have 2-tons of manga she needs to unload. (Hey Ki, are you reading this? See how much of this has to do with you? XP) Sooooo. . . we suddenly went from being "blah" about the whole idea of going, to being super-duper stoked. . . Hopefully we can pull our thumbs out of our asses fast enough to get some stuff finished.
Incase you doubt my productivity, here's a speed-clip of me inking a drawing:
